I'm sure this is really specific group of people and I have no idea if any other Salon Professionals are on here, but I need some advice! Ladies, (and gents) you know how it goes in the Salon. You could be on your feet for hours straight, no breaks, no lunch, just working hard to make the money. I'm still in school, so all of this is still new to me, but how on earth do you find time to eat all of your calories??? I mean seriously! By the time I get home I'm starving and I either make an unhealthy food choice or I binge eat or I don't eat all my calories! You can't eat in front of clients without seeming unprofessional! Help a girl out! What do you do to eat all your calories in a day!

I'm no longer in the business but when I was I packed snacks to munch on in the back when I had time. Lots of veggies like carrot sticks and bell pepper strips. I also packed my own lunch because in the Salon ordering delivery happens a lot and that is when you can get in trouble calorie wise. I would pack my lunch and eat it and the snacks through out the day, and I had to realize I wouldn't always have the time to sit and eat lunch but to take the bites out of my sandwich when someone was processing. I also made sure my breakfast was a pretty good size and a good amount of calories and protein that way I wouldn't be as hungry throughout the day. Hope that helps.0

Thank you so much for your help! I think eating breakfast is going to be the best bet!0 -
I worked in retail, and it is kind of the same situation, long hours on your feet, breaks cut short etc. I loved having ready-to-drink protein shakes. I could drink the EAS light chocolate flavor warm and the taste didn't bug me too much.
I think a bigger concern for salon employees is drug and alcohol abuse. Don't even start drinking at work, not even once. It is a hard job, but it is harder if you are drunk.0 -

When I saw this quote, my heart kinda broke a little. I'm sorry for whatever salon experience you must have had to assume that cosmetologists have drug/alcohol problems, but I can assure you that the young women and men I work with do not abuse such substances at work. I, myself, have never done any drugs nor even considered drinking while working.
PS- will keep the protein shakes in mind.0
