RE: Down 22 lbs and stuck...Please help!

I'm asking this for my hubby who is also doing MFP. He's done awesome by losing 22 lbs since June 24. He told me today that he's been stuck though at 22lbs for a week or two.

His daily is 2600 and he has a "walking" active job as his workout. His macros are all legit, going over on fat occasionally and over on protein sometimes.

Since he lost 20 lbs should he now change the 2600 to something lower? We weren't sure if he was eating too much. He would like to still lose 25lbs-35lbs.

He was losing 6 lbs, 6, 3, 4, 1 and then 2 lbs...so he really had something stoked in the metabolism or is very much overweight to have lost so quickly. :)

He's a 40 year old, 6'2 and 251.

Any suggestions and information would be greatly appreciated.

Give it two more weeks. Weight loss is seldom linear and fat loss can be masked by fluid variance.

He shouldn't have the same calorie goal now as he did when 20lb heavier as your BMR drops with your weight. It should be re-calibrated for his current weight. .

Your calorie goal provided by any calculator is just an estimate, as everyone is different. Have him drop 200 off the daily and try that for a week, if the plateau continues drop again. If he finds that he starts to lose too fast, add some more back. Sometimes you have to use some trial and error to get the number just right.

Also, like the above poster said, you will have to drop your calorie goal as you continue to lose weight.
