My new trainer told me to calculate your heart rate zones, I think it is 65% to 85% of your max, and then stay in that zone for a full 30 minutes. It may take 10 minutes to get there, and 5 to come down, but dont count those minutes in your "30 min goal". Also, in the past I have done 1 minute pyramids, from the Body for Life program , increase your speed or incline for 1 minute intervals, over a 5 minute cycle, then go back to the starting speed or incline and go up again for a 30 minute workout. ( i walk at 3.4 mph for 1 minute, then 3.6 mph, then 3.8 mph, then 4.0, then 4.2 , then go back to 3.4 and do it all over again). Oprah's boot camp has some crazy treadmill routine also that kicked my butt once and I havent done it since! Hope that helps!0
