What is the one thing that is helping you the most?

For me, it's focusing on the fact that I'm not on a diet, I'm on a mission to change my whole life. So, that gives me a lot of perspective: I'm in a for the long haul so I won't collapse if I fall off the wagon for a day or a meal....I'm looking at my life as a whole -- food, exercise, even the types of friends I want to hang out with (supportive and healthy vs. downers and energy suckers) and I intend to change my entire attitude about food. You??

Having a super supportive spouse, hands down. He's the best.

Yep, I desperately need to change my whole life, this isn't just about fitting into that size four. Nowhere near. If it were, I would have given up a long time ago.

Thinking of fitness as self-care. It's an act of loving myself.

Many have already stated what has helped me the most. 1. MFP keeps me accountable for all I put in my mouth. 2. I make healthier eating choices. 3. I tell myself, SLOW and STEADY wins in the long run.
I don't have a set timeline to lose the weight but to do it in a healthy fashion so it stays off.
My husband has also hopped onto the wagon (he has lost >30lbs). Our change in mentality (food = fuel ) has also helped alot. This outlook hopefully will teach our child that healthy eating and exercise are just normal everyday things to do as part of "daily routine" :) Keep up the good work everyone!!!

To put it simply, I was finally ready to make a change. Now that I'm 3 weeks in and I've lost 8 pounds, that's even more of a motivator because it's not just wishful thinking anymore....I'm actually doing it!!

I joined a weight loss contest at work, but it's not my main motivator. I am hoping that I will win cuz it would be a nice little chunk of change!

This might sound strange but I'm not thinking of it as a huge lifestyle change because if I do, I think it would be too overwhelming and I would just give up. So I'm just taking it one day at a time :-)
