Bad overeating cycles

This is something I've been dealing with for years. I'll go through periods when I'm okay with eating a normal amount of food, I lose weight, I feel fine, I'm eating lots of veggies, fruits, and fats, have a lot of energy, etc; and then out of nowhere my appetite will be insatiable. And it's not for "good" foods either, but for pizza, stuff like that. And then, of course, I'll gain weight. It doesn't feel like my will power is breaking, since when I'm in my "healthy" phase it just comes naturally, those are the things I WANT to eat. Has anyone else had a similar experience? If you finally broke the cycle, how? I'm not worried for my health (yet), but I feel bloated and sluggish and it's really uncomfortable.

Even if you never broke that cycle, I'd be interested to hear your experiences. Thanks!
