Runners - sports bra chaffing

Now that I'm getting into longer distances for my runs, I am coming home with chaffing/raw spots along the top line of my sports bra. What can I put on my skin before running to help that?

Body Glide!0

Does the elastic come in contact with your skin? Only one of my sports bras does that and it is because I am allergic to whatever is in the elastic. Something about my pores opening and sweating. Try a different brand and see if that helps.0

Body Glide!
Does that only come from specialty running stores? Or I guess, Amazon?0 -
I get it so bad I bleed under my boobs.... I use strapping tape. The smooth water/sweat resistant one I think it's by 3M. Drastic I know. Will read the rest of this thread with great interest!0

I found that this occurs mostly with an ill fitting sports bra in my experience. What worked for me was getting a sports bra made specifically for running, since it's designed for that movement specifically and the seams tend to be the best, like for example the ones made by Champion or Brooks, among others. Also, when I lost a bit of weight, this was enough to create really bad chaffing even with a good running sports bra, and I had to go down a size to take care of it.0

I use Sports Shield. Same basic idea as Body Glide but I've found it works better for me. I don't chafe anywhere on shorter runs, but the same exact clothes and gear wear rubbing my body raw once I started getting up to 7 miles and up. Even once I got the Sport Shield, I still faced new raw spots after every long run in my first round of half training. The weeks after my half were definitely weeks of healing for my skin.
This round of training, Sports Shield has been with me from day one in every known spot and I've stayed chafe/raw free the entire time (knock wood) with my next half coming up in two weeks.0 -

Hmmm. Good point on the size. I hadn't thought of that. I'm only about 10 pounds under where I was before, but that is enough to make a size difference. Thank you!0 -
Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I will look for the body glide and the other sports stuff too!0
