any starbucks baristas here?

i have a question...if a quad shot espresso is 20 cals, but a 4 shot americano is 25 cals (no milk/sugar)...where are the 5 extra cals coming from? thanks

I'm a former Starbucks Barista. There should be no difference in the calories. A quad americano is just a quad espresso with water. Obviously water has no calories unless something changed. haha. I don't know why they are labeled different. Hope that helps!0

Former barista here as well (worked at Starbucks, Tully's, and an independent shop) and they're identical except for the addition of water. I'm guessing it's just because all nutrition facts on everything are estimates anyway; it's just from rounding.
And a tip, even if you don't want the full amount of water in an Americano, have them put just a little splash of water in your espresso; it'll keep it from turning bitter.0 -
i figured it out, a hot americano is 4 shots but an iced americano is 5
