SkorpionUK saying HI! & looking for activity buddies

Hello there, I just realised that I haven't got around to writing an intro post yet, best get on it...
I'm Rebecca aka SkorpionUK (I go by that name everywhere online, feel free to find me), I live in SE London (GB) with my husband and my cat, I'm 37 years old (38 in October: yes I'm a Scorpio), 5'3" and definitely overweight for my frame. I've been that way for a long, long time, and trying to do something about it hasn't always been met with success, but I'm giving it another go.
I've been using this site for a few days now and so far, it's going really well. I've struggled with tracking food in the past, it used to make me feel very down and deprived, but so far, my attitude is holding up. Likewise with exercise: I've been through bouts of exercising and long periods where I've not done anything, but after a month travelling this summer and being very active, it seems easier somehow to want to get out there and do stuff. Plus I vowed not to use public transport while our beloved Mr Johnson</sarcasm> was doing announcements on it... I use my bike instead! Ha!
I guess it is possible, though, once the weather turns colder and work stress kicks in and all that... that I might not want to keep up with my healthy living aims. And at that point, I may well want a buddy for support, because, lovely as he is, my husband has been a skinny git all his life and just doesn't get it, and I don't have many friends who are into healthy eating and exercise, except for one MFP friend (hello T!). I think I'd quite like a support network, several people all helping each other. And in particular, I would LOVE some local friends to do fun activities/exercise with! I am terrible for letting myself down by getting lazy and not doing what I've decided to do, but as soon as there are others involved, I can't say no, so I reckon I should harness that trait, don't you?
LIKES
* cycling
* Zumba (went to my first class today and loved it! If you dance with Carla Lima, _definitely_ message me)
* Lindy Hop (danced from '06-'09, might be starting again)
* dancing in general: starting ballet again soon, also interested in Raqs Orientale (belly dance), hooping
* yoga (I've been doing Hot Bikram Yoga, on and off, for two years)
* fencing (epée)
* meal planning
* positivity, acceptance
DISLIKES
* running
* crazy diets (I've tried a few & advise against them now)
* flakes (I like fun, but at heart I'm quite a serious person)
* body-shaming, negative self-talk
I might be willing to buddy up with someone who isn't local to me if we get on well and can support each other adequately online-only, but as said above, local activity partners are my main interest at present.
Thanks for reading!
