So tell me.. When does" In 5 weeks" ever get here?

So Tell me .. When does "In 5 weeks" ever get here!! I should be between 121 to 130 lbs. according to MFP :) LOL! It would be more accurate if it gave you a weekly project not based on a daily diet. I know that my body is in transformation mode, so muscles are being developed so not weight loss, but really MFP is pretty deceiving when each day I'm under my calorie goal and I see this outrageous low "you will be xx lbs. in 5 weeks”.

Beg Weight: 160
CW:136.5
GW: 130
Started MFP 01/2012 seriously :)

p.s. - don't get me wrong I am happy about my progression, but just a little inpatient :) and want to meet my GW!
p.s.s. - if you are in Chicago and a mom - I'm looking for new friends.

Mine has been pretty spot on. I've had a few slip ups with water weight, but that's natural. I'm sure it won't be as accurate as I get down to the nitty gritty of things.

I took a stand a week and a half ago and I said to myself that today is the day, five weeks from now I will weigh XXX! I printed out a calendar and I marked the weeks on it and my goal weight for the five weeks. I thought it was such a short timeframe that I could easily make every day like "today" the day it said where I would be. Now I weigh myself weekly and record my weight. I also "play with the numbers" to see how much effort I need to put in exercise-wise to keep myself in that goal.

 i laughed when I read your post, Marietta... because I have to admit every time I see that line on my food diary I think to myself.. UH HUH.. right... WHEN?? you've said THAT before LOLOL... I think I'd prefer if it ASKED me if I wanna know when I'm gonna be at whatever weight.... then I wouldn't have to see its prediction unless I wanted to!! Thanks for the laugh - nice to know someone else shares my pain seeing that LOL!

I'm right there with you! If only you magically weighted that in 5 weeks! Mine was ridiculously low today because of playing a volleyball match. It was equivalent to loosing 26 pounds in 5 weeks!

Makes me laugh too, but then I realized, since I've been on MFP, the "you will weigh XX in 5 weeks" number is getting lower and lower each week, so I must be making progress. I remember when "you will weigh 218 in 5 weeks" got me excited and now I'm at "you will weigh 182 in 5 weeks" so that IS progress!

LMAO! I've had the exact same thought

I write mine down in the notes section of my diary so I can, periodically, go back and see if I am on target or not. Generally not. Yesterday it said I would be down 45 pounds in 5 weeks!! I'm currently averaging 1-2 pounds a week! So, I generally use it for a good laugh, and say "THAT would be nice!"

    It LIES!!! LOL
  • Do your own math, find your average daily deficit for a given period and the weight you lost at that time and you can predict how much you lose.

I wrote that 5 week # on the calender about 3 weeks into my progress and when I got to that date I weighed about 2 pounds less than predicted. I am ready to write that number down once again. if you have roughly the same calories in and burn similar each day it seems fairly accurate to me. we all know there are fluctuations and plateaus so it wont be exact but that feature is what sold me on this whole site. it is serious motivation for me.

Hasn't happened yet, although that may be a good thing as mine is usually ridiculously low.

Although... weighing 105lb would be an interesting place to be.
