NEED ROAD BIKE HELP PLEASE!

So I have set my mind to completing a triathlon next year as a long term fitness goal. I need a bike! I can not afford to spend tons of money on a bike. I also know next to nothing about bikes and bike terms. Looking for someone knowledgeable about bikes to pm me, maybe look at a couple online, and give me opinions.... anyone care to assist?!

Also, don't forget about Craig's list. My sister-in-law got a really nice carbon fiber road bike for like $500, originally a few thousand.

I second Craigslist. Also, Ebay. My mom got her $3000 Trek for $650.

I would echo ebay etc but get it fitted by people who know, and you will probably want to change the saddle as this is the one area where gender does count. Gurls sit bones are wider apart and a racing saddle is normally too narrow.
