I was out for a meal last night, and my nephew who's lost around 8lbs in the last week says he's using appetite suppressant. He is very fit and plays soccer for a north west team, has anybody tried them or been tempted?

There are many different kinds. The off the shelf "uppers" you take your chances with. GNC used to sell that stuff until they got in trouble for not labeling correctly or something like that not to mention people died from heart attacks.

I have taken the prescription ones before and didn't like the hyped up feeling so after a month I stopped.

They are not needed it you eat correctly. No processed foods (too much junk and calories and too little nutrition) and adequate protein and fats that satiate you. Use your carbs on veggies and not grains (sorry I am Primal so gonna go there) and you will get plenty full.

I'd like to know this too, there is so much bad hype about them on here but I've started using them + the fat burner pills that go with them, I haven't started recording weightloss yet so I can't tell u if they are working but I do feel it makes it heaps easier to eat healthy .. When Im not really hungry its easier to eat very healthily so is that really such a bad thing?

I have found that in past attempts at weight lose they help sometimes. But so does black coffee… or eating low fat low sodium ow calorie hot soups…and eating more protein. The thing I didn't like about them was they made me anxious (the appetite suppressants)

I do think there is more than one way to lose weight, and sometimes it takes a combination of things and trial and error to get on your path to healthy living/choices.

I am taking phentermine. I take half a pill in the morning, and half a pill in the afternoon. Taking it that way minimizes the side effects. They are helping me to develop healthier habits. I've been on them 6 weeks, and only plan on taking them for another 4 weeks. I just wanted a jump start.
