30 day shred advice

Ok so I'm 23, 319lbs and decided to give the 30DS a go to up my exercise level. I'm very unfit and could only make it through 10/15 minutes in my first attempt before being totally exhausted. Other then that I was ok.

Tonight I completed it about 90 minutes after eating dinner, downed some water then immediately felt very sick and dizzy that took over an hour of not moving to fade. I'm on medication for high blood pressure.

Just wanted some advice on if I'm doing too much or I did something wrong that caused the dizziness. I was planning to do it every day but after tonight I'm not sure if thats a wise idea.

I'm 5'8", around 165 lbs and started 30DS over 2 weeks ago. I ran a 5K the weekend before I started it (and have been running for 2 months before that) and I STILL can't make it through an entire workout without doing some of the modified exercises and taking a second to catch my breath now and then. It's no joke!! I would definitely recommend working your way into 30DS. Maybe start by taking brisk walks, doing the elliptical, etc. and then once you can complete a 30-45 min workout without getting dizzy, try out the 30DS again. Also I think it helps to ease into working out. I was never athletic and it took me a really long time to get through an exercise DVD (even an "easy" one) and run more than 1 minute at a time without stopping. It's less discouraging when you take it slow and steady.

Also, I'm not sure if it will make a difference for you but I can't do the 30DS workouts (or running or anything where I'm really breathing heavy) soon after I eat. It has to be like 2-3 hours (better if 3 or more) since I've last eaten or else I feel disgusting or get cramped up.

The 30DS is a tough one...I started out marching in place really fast for the jumping jacks and such and worked my way up..pushed myself a little more each time. I still hate jj's because i have huge boobs (sorry for tmi) so some days I jog in place now as an alternate. Work your way up...I do this a few days a week, and the other day I felt sick after doing it..but I also did the elliptical for 20 minutes first. She's brutal, but she works. I also do a Chris Powell video (the guy from extreme weightloss show) he has a couple of videos on youtube, he does have a modifier for all of videos and those are a good workout as well.

Yeah I know its meant to be tough and I can tell it will totally work if you stick to it. I've been doing a lot of walking recently to build myself up and done a few 'walking aerobic' type videos that barely left me out of breath. I mean I had to take a few 30 second pauses and modify them myself (not jumping on the skipping etc) but it was doable.

I'm thinking the combination of doing it soon after eating and pushing myself to breaking point just threw my body into shock. I'm gonna persevere though, maybe doing 10/15 minutes of it every few days. Although I think I'll do some less intense workouts for the next week before going back to the 30DS.

Thanks for the advice guys xx

30 days shred is no kidding. I did it sometime ago, when I first started dieting. I did all the modified exercises. By that time, I was 105kg (about 231 lbs). I lost some weight (around 5kg), but I didn't push that much, because I was completely out of form. Try to use light dumbells (2 to 3 lbs, since I use metric, mine had 1 kg). Now I'm a Jillian addicted: I've done ripped in 30 and doing Body revolution. They're tough. Try to make pauses. I have a friend in weightlossbuddy that divide them in two sets of 15 minutes. Or try a lighter exercise, and then come back to jillian. About the eating thing, it doesn't work for me: I feel very bad when I workout right after a meal, it makes me dizzy. Maybe that's what making you feel it too. I usually give myself 1-1:30 hours after a meal, and then I workout.
