Hot upper back and neck after eating a meal?

Question for those familiar with these sorts of reactions:
I ate lunch out with family at a Mexican restaurant. After eating my meal, I noticed my upper back getting HOT. I did not feel too hot inside, not sweaty or anything, just my upper back and neck area, and it stayed hot for an hour or so. My heart rate also picked up and was beating forcefully, and I also felt more energetic than usual; even got some weeding done when I came home.
Now I'm thoroughly exhausted and could just pass out, but I have to stay up to watch the kids.. it occurred to me to ask here: This is not the thermic effect of food, but something else, right? Doesn't the thermic effect of food have to do more locally with the intestines? I'm assuming that given the location on my upper back and neck it was brown fat being activated, but I can't think of anything special in the meal that would have done this. The corn was unusual in my diet and I have reacted to that before with increased heart rate and forceful beats.. mild allergy reaction? Would that cause brown fat activation, though? Hmm.
Any thoughts from those more experienced or educated in this area?

Oh noes! Not page 2!
Of course it could just be a case of post hoc ergo propter hoc.0 -
For those interested but not replying: I now have a fever. At this point options are broadened. Could've just been a coincidence as the start of the symptoms of whatever bug I have, or food poisoning. Yay.0

Was going to suggest it might be a food allergy ..... then read the last post ...... feel better soon :flowerforyou:0

Thank you.
I am disappoint. I was hopeful maybe I could recreate this "brown fat activation" on purpose to burn through some calories.
Wait, there is hope! I just received word that others in my family also had this reaction at lunch, but the one I'm talking to is not currently feverish or sick. Hmm. This is suspicious.0
