it was someone's birthday at work, and when they passed me the piece of cake, i took it. it was very small, so i was thinking surely i could eat just this tiny piece. i decided to calculate first, then eat.

turns out, if i eat that cake today, dinner will have to be very ver small and I will be starving for the rest of the evening. so i gave it to my coworker and am feeling very proud of my self control (especially because i went over on my cals the past three days in a row).

All those things will help you get to your goal faster! I've overindulged a bit this weekend myself, so I'm getting things straight this week. My wonderful mom just had to make fudge last night and make me take a bunch home with me :grumble: . Thank God my boyfriend loves the stuff, it takes some serious willpower to stay away from it!!! Hopefully if I reach for some I can think of how you turned down the cake and know I can stay away, too.

I know what that's like. Seems there is always leftover sheet cake in the break room at work. If it's not someone's birthday or retirement party then its National Public Safety Dispatchers Day or something like that. I have a hard time staying away from it but I do (at least for a year now).

Congratulations! Let these "attaboys" from your fellow MFPers be your no-calorie enjoyment! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Good for you!! :flowerforyou: I've been asking myself "Is it worth it?" whenever I have an opportunity to eat something like that. Like donuts and Halloween candy at work, cake at birthday parties, etc. Many times, it is not worth the calories/fat/etc., so I've been able to walk away. It's a very empowering feeling!
