Hike to the top of a mountain

Sort of a NSV. An old buddy from high school and I went out on a hike. 1400m elevation gain. 5 hours up and 4 hours down. Going up was a breeze. I easily kept pace with my buddy. He is a seasoned hiker, so I felt good about keeping up. On the way down I started to fade at about 3/4 the way down. This was last Thursday. Still feeling a bit sore in the thighs. Was a lot of fun. I could not have done this 7 months ago.

Going down is always harder. Seems counterintuitive. It's actually because you're working against gravity. Glad you had such a super day! That's where I'm headed. To the Top. And gosh I know that area inside out. NEED to get back to it. I grew up not far from there.0
