I have 13 pounds left to reach my goal and have hit a plateau. I haven't lost any weight for a month. I've been reading about high intensity interval training and was wondering if anyone has had any success with this for busting through a plateau.

Yes. I have. When I stall again, I take shorter breaks, or increase the time. Good luck.

Direct answer to the question is yes. HIIT is a great way to help you lose fat and decrease the amount of muscle you lose. However, when I hit a plateau the first thing I did was check my diet and low and behold...small tweak and I was back at it again. Using HIIT and vigorous walking/running.

Thanks for the replies, they are very encouraging! I will definitely add hiit to my routine as well as scrutinizing my diet further!
