Yaaay, Stacey & water! You can't be doing too terribly... you're still dropping weight according to your ticker. I haven't dropped any weight since last week. :brokenheart:0
-
thanks trish! i'm not gonna weigh tomorrow--and upset myself. i will just do lots of cardio to help offset the eating.
i didn't do exercise today b/c i was soooo sore from yesterday's legs dvd. those squats and lunges kill me.
so tomorrow, it's back to the exercise pgm and better eating.
sorry that you haven't dropped more pounds. just keep doing the good things and the numbers will go down. absolutely.
'night y'all0 -
Stacey - Good job on the water!! :flowerforyou: I completely understand the problem of the fun size snickers. I've done the same thing.
Trish - That dinner sounds yummy!
We did Chick-Fil-A for dinner. It was school night at the one near us. Part of the proceeds from sales tonight goes towards the Elementary school. But instead of getting the normal chicken sandwich w/ cheese & waffle fries, I got the spicy cool wrap and fruit cup. Although, the half a chocolate shake probably wasn't the best choice. I did walk to pick up the kids from school today, and then I walked a mile on the treadmill tonight after the kids went to bed. DH made sure I got on it tonight! I also drank all my water 2 days in a row!!!  :drinker:
However, I'm over by 1200 calories.
Have a great night!0 -
I think the shake did you in, but the wrap sounds yummy! I am going to do yoga off to the side while hubby uses the Wii to do his. Yay for tandem workouts!0
-
Glad everyone is doing ok. I'm doing good. Just wanted to check in.0
-
Gm everyone! My arms are sore from doing the exercises with Kathy Smith this morning...A good thing! I hope everyone is having a good day.
I have a challenge for everyone...try not to eat any candy today!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Just keep telling yourself that you can eat some tomorrow....just not today.0 -
I'll take that challenge. Should be easy... there's none in the house
Does that mean I should not eat something else instead?0 -
nicholee--i'll take that challenge! but like trish--not much in the way of candy.
however--i will not eat any cookies today!!!
i will drink 7 glasses of water.
i will exercise. i was just so sore yesterday--still am today but will push thru it. i'm going to the y so little one has a new place and kids to be with while i get in a long workout.
amy, good for you for making better choices at the restaurant. that is hard to do. and your next step will be skipping the shake. that's awesome how dh encouraged you to workout--and that you did it.
trish--tandem workouts are fun (and cute!)
silver--glad to see you chime in here and there. and even more glad to see you're feeling ok. :flowerforyou:
alright. gotta go. cuz we WILL be on time to school today.0 -
Trish...I guess I should say...whatever the big weakness is for you! I don't have any candy in the house either. Although I think I could resist that. It's things like tortilla chips and potato chips that get me!0
-
Nicole, I'll take that challenge. I still have Halloween candy in the house (although they're almost out of the candy I like), and I brought some Target brand "Monster Trail Mix" with me to snack on at work. It has chocolate chips & M&Ms in it. I will refrain from eating them today. I'll still eat the peanuts, raisins & peanut butter chips from it and leave the chocolate for tomorrow.0
-
yay stacey!
i torched 500 cals and exercised 62min! i feel so good about that. so now hopefully i'll remember how much work it takes to burn those cals
---and stop eating the CRA*, espec in crazy quantities
hope everyone is having a great day!0 -
Did 1/2 hour of Yoga on Wii Fit +, then 10 mins of aerobic stepping, and a 1/2 hour low impact aerobic workout with Bob on Biggest Loser Wii. Burned 250 on WF+ and probably 100 on BL (it said 60, but felt like more).
Oh and another thing... It takes me 34 minutes to walk a mile (like 1400 steps, right)? So how come it only takes me 10 minutes to take 1,000 on the aerobic stepping? Does that mean I should try running the mile and see how long it takes me? I was doing nearly 100 steps a minute on the aerobic step.
Also had the adventure of being locked out of my house this morning. Had to climb up & down a ladder repeatedly, mutilate a screen, do the biggest squat in the world to get in through the window (it was like 2 feet away from the ladder *bites nails*) and found my keys. All in all, it was a great day for calorie burning!
I'm getting frustrated with the scale though. I've been weighing myself at the same time in the morning, and I've put on 3 lbs. What the heck?! I've been eating healthy, I thought.
How do you tell when your body has gone into survival mode? I'm taking in 1200-1500 calories a day, and haven't been nearly as hungry as I was when I was binging on 2500-3500 a day!0 -
Trish, are you eating your exercise calories? How about your water? Are you drinking enough?0
-
I drink between 60-90 oz of water a day (don't always remember to log it though), usually have 100 calories leftover at the end of the day (but my final count for what I've eaten is around 1500).
My nutrition diary is public if anyone wants to take a look at it & maybe make suggestions on what I'm doing wrong.0 -
Trish, my recommendation would be to add some more fruit and veggies into your meals. Raw or steamed is the best way. They have fiber, fill you up, all the other good stuff your body needs. You can look at my diary too...I am nowhere near perfect, but you can get an idea of how i eat fruits and veggies. I should be eating more fruit though. I definitely have the veggies down pat!!!:laugh:0
-
We usually have veggies. Last night we had fajitas (meat, red peppers, lettuce, home made salsa). I had more veggie than meat. I thought I was doing good there, but I'll try adding even more. I used to be, pretty much, strictly carnivore, so I feel like I'm eating a lot of veggies, and we're out of fruit till payday. Time to stock up when we go shopping!0
-
good luck DrBorkBork.
Hope you ladies had a good day! Have a good one tomorrow!0 -
I am out of pretty much everything too Trish...Friday is payday though!
How did we all do with the challenge? I did good because I don't have any junkfood in the house!!!0 -
I think I am struggling with the challenge as we speak. I am feeling hungry & just want to snack on salsa & chips, but I read that it helps your body lose weight if you give yourself a cutoff time for food.
*Sigh* should have saved my slice of cheesecake for AFTER dinner, instead of during the day when I was feeling tired and frazzled.
Oh well, just need to hold off for an hour and we'll be in bed. Hard to eat when you are sleeping.0 -
Hello ladies! I've had a good day. My eating wasn't great, not horrible, but not great. I didn't exercise either. But I got all 8 cups of water in and I got through the challenge. I didn't have a single piece of candy today. I even refrained from eating any of the oreo cookies I got for the kids since they're chocolate. Have a great night!0
-
Excellent job Amy!!! How did you do Trish? Did you give in to the chips and salsa? BTW...did I mention that is my alltime FAVORITE snack???!!!:blushing:0
-
Nope, did not give in to chips and salsa, but definitely having some today! I decided to give myself a cut off point for food in the evening. No goodies after 8! Just need to make sure I get my water in and workout. Scale is back down to 241 this morning, YAAAAY! I think maybe I wasn't getting enough water (looks like my body wants closer to 90 than 60), pushed to get at least 2 & 1/2 mugs in yesterday, which is about 75 oz. Can't wait for tomorrow--- PAYDAY! I will be so relieved to have money again. Do any of you other SAHMs feel like you have no room to do anything when the coffers are empty? I feel kinda choked.0
-
i survived the challenge too! and i got at least 7 glasses of water in.
i will admit that it was hard to resist grabbing a cookie while i made the girls' lunches this am. But resist i did!
I will not eat cookies today! The candy is mostly gone so non-issue there.
And i will get the 8 glasses done. Thanks shera for the link. i have a water bottle i like too. it's just a matter of going for it instead of shoveling food in. kwim?
congrats to all of us who met the challenge!!
and trish--yes i would feel choked too. maybe it would help to create a small slush fund for the week or month so you could "splurge"---on a plum? or nail polish? or something like that?
of course, if there isn't room in the budget for that, then there isn't room. i get it.
maybe when you're feeling squirelly--go do stretch on wii? or call a friend? or go to youtube and watch something funny? or a joke a day website? or journal? what's really driving that feeling?? maybe you've already thought of all these things. maybe they're not what you're looking for....
((hugs)) this too will pass :flowerforyou:
i've got to get caught up on chores today. will hopefully have time to exercise too. probably won't be online again--cuz i gotta get this work done.
have a great day all!! we are strong and will reach our goals!!0 -
Hi I glad I found this thread I'm also a stay at home mom to Jonathon 3 and Isabel 10 months. I love staying home with my kids. I've been doing since Jonathon was born though I found that some days are crazy and I don't get a work out in or it will be about 3 in the afternoon and I haven't eaten anything all day. With the holidays coming I want to bake like I do every holiday but if I do i know I will eat a lot more then I need. With all my family coming to my house for the holidays I'm under some stress, I'm hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas. Anyone else relate to what I'm going through?0
-
Welcome, Shamm! I think we can all relate to how you feel about baking for the holidays. Could you maybe make some ingredient substitutions in your recipes to help cut back calories so you can still enjoy the goodies?0
-
welcome Shamm!
Ok....so I am really freaking out right now about the coffers being empty!!!!! I TOTALLY know what you are talking about Trish! wehaven't been this broke in a long time! EEEKKK!!! One good thing about it is that I can't stress eat right now, because I don't have any extra food to stress eat with!
Payday is tomorrow for us too, but it should go to all bills....but Iguess we have to eat in there somewhere.....a strict budget then at the grocery store!0 -
We try to spend no more than $150 at the grocery store every payday. The rest goes to bills. We go to a nice dinner on payday as well. Not crazy expensive nice, but a restaurant where you sit down & someone serves you food rather than a drive thru or something. We are going to a local Mexican restaurant tomorrow because they keep sending us "buy 2 drinks and an entree, get a free entree" letter. Keeps us under $20 for 3 people. Not too bad. Grace loves their salsa, LOL. She tried to drink it last time. She went bug eyed. It was one of those moments where just because it seemed like a good idea, doesn't mean you should do it. Glad we learned that lesson, rofl.
This paycheck Grace & I are getting winter coats. YAY! Hopefully we'll have some money left over in 2 weeks. I hate being broke. I feel like I have to be home bound when we are broke. Easier to avoid spending money we don't have that way, but I go stir crazy easily.
EDIT: Was feeling hungry and was about to dive into the chips & salsa, but I polished off the last few ounces of my water, refilled it, and then decided to try & drink some to help feel full. Welllll... I ended up drinking 30 oz. I'm going to grab a stick of gum & chew the heck out of it.
