Emotional Eating

I have EDNOS with bulimic tendencies (recovering), during emotional times I binge. I binge\purged earlier today cause I'm stressed about tomorrow (boyfriend committed suicide, so it's not bored eating)

Anywho.

1. How do you deal with emotional eating
2. Do you beat yourself up over it
3. How to avoid it
4. Do you notice your doing it

Im going throught the thought of emotional eating and the only thing holding me back is the scale. i tend to emotionally eat when things start to get a little bit hectic in my life or when im bored. and yes i beat myself up over it. i use to self mutilate instead but thats not healthy either. and the only thing that made me change was having my daughter. hopefully you can find a way to deal with things before you have kids. i wish i couldve gotten healthy for me.

Wow, you have a lot to deal with right now. Stick to the basics. Since you were bold enough to offer such personal information, maybe you should journal about your thought instead of reaching for the food. It always helps me to get my thoughts out on paper and even make a list of positive things that are going on in your life. Also, I make sure I have healthy alternatives in the house in case I need them. Single serving items tend to be easier so I will stop at one serving and avoid having to monitor myself to stop. Another thing, pick up the phone and call somebody... Anybody... You will feel better once you have had a chance to think through the moment.

Chin up and remember you are worth it. Take care

I agree. Admitting it, recognizing it, is the start of you taking the wheel. Intensely overwhelming emotion manifests differently for everyone. Just don't let one bad day ruin the next. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are able to find peace tomorrow and have a better day. Breathe.
