1-2 cloves garlic (I use one and it's still plenty)
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup water
14 oz (400 g) can of chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup tahini (sesame paste. . .in the international section of almost any grocery)
sea salt to taste (I use one tsp)

Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Process until smooth. You'll probably have to scrape the sides a few time. You can add a bit more lemon juice if you need to.

You can also add cayenne pepper if you like it spicy, or leave out the water and substitute roasted red peppers (from a jar).

Great with sliced veggies (my favorite is cucumbers, sweet red peppers and carrots.

Enjoy!

I'm lazy too! Hummus: home prepared is in the data base, and I've been using that. It is pretty calorie dense, but I always eat it with vegetables, which are practically free calorie wise. Also, it's full of fibre and iron.
