bad weekend ahead help

So I've been doing pretty well so far but this coming weekend know it's going to be a bad one with non stop drinking sessions over 3 days.
My question is - what do you all do when you know you have a big weekend of partying ahead of you?
Should I avoid logging for the whole weekend so I don't feel so down on myself?
There will be no excersize (except drunken dancing) food will most likely be take aways and way too much drink involved!
Can I do really well this week and one bad weekend not have too much of a detrimental effect?
Tips please guys

For me, this isn't a diet but a lifestyle change and weekends like this do sometimes happen so I would log in, try to be as good as you can but enjoy your weekend and get back to it on monday! That's what I would do x0

Hi, I know its hard but we have to enjoy ourselves once in a while! I went out for a meal with a friend for the first time last week since starting MFP and was somewhat apprehensive about it beforehand. I just tried to be sensible and not over do it. Hopefully you'll have an idea of what is and how much is bad for you. Good luck!0

I would log it as well, it is always good to be able to see just how it affects you, and it's there to look back on if need be
Agree with the pp about a lifestyle change, its ok to include partying in your new regime, but keeping track will help keep tabs on it
Whe I have failed in the past is exactly a you describe a blow out weekend and then not being able to get back on track, I think logging it all helps hugely0 -
Hey there, yeah I hear you! I have had some big weekends this year through Hen Do's and big birthdays etc
It's really hard to log personally myself!
I'm sure different people have different ways of doing it, but I'll be honest -
What I have tended to do is have a really good week leading up to it, eat clean and exercise so I go with a positive mental attitude.
And when the weekend comes, I don't log... I find it's great not too, switch off, have fun with my friends and take a break - it does me good.
I know that I'll be having a bad weekend food and alcohol wise but when I can, I make positive choices - making sure I drink plenty of water in-between drinks, when eating try to eat things like fruit, jacket potato's and salad/pasta instead of burger kings and pizza etc
I start good and then I know I get caught up having a good time lol
But Monday mornings comes.... BANG! I force myself to get back focused because I found if you don't, that whole eating crap can carry on with you for a good week and takes longer to recover by it so make sure you are back Monday morning!!!
I've had a few bad weekends during my time here and I've learnt by each one what to try to do to help be a bit better.
Have fun girl when your there! Be focused before and after I'll add you so you can have some motivation Monday morning

thanks for everyone who's replied so far...may try to log...well while I'm sober enough to!
It's a public holiday weekend here and so next week will start on Tuesday as we're partying Sat, Sun and Mon but friends will be staying at mine from Thurs so I'm gonna work extra hard until then...and maybe convince them to walk to the pub with me instead of a taxi!
I will work hard at it again on Tuesday though as I'm feeling much better about myself (even though so far the inches have been lost on hips and boobs and nothing on my tum which is the problem area)0 -
That's the spirit, completely agree with the other posts as well with life style changes and these can hugely influence how you go over the weekend!
Learnt some tips myself here I find a problem when weekend celebrations come round, interesting topic!0 -
Personally, I log a bit and then forget!
I like to be accountable, but then sometimes I just don't want to know!
I agree with the other posters, this is a lifestyle change, and you are going to have these weekends occasionally!
But set a time limit on it. You say 3 nights, I think? So limit it. Set the deadline to 8am Monday morning to be back on your food plan, whatever that is. No excuses, no "I've got a bit of a hangover, a fry up will help!". Make yourself accountable on Monday morning to get back to being fit and healthy!
And most importantly, ENJOY your weekend! xxx0
