College snack box.

Ever since I started college, I've gained 5-6lbs (Curse the vending machines!), so I decided to put together a college snack/lunch box for myself with set things to eat at set times (e.g. break, lunch and before I go home. I usually wait for my brother to finish his class before going home, usually around an hour, so I waste my money on chocolate to pass the time. :grumble: ) Anyway!
I need some nice, healthy sandwich/snack ideas! And any little notes & quotes to put in my purse and lunchbox if I get tempted by other things.
Any ideas??

Ooo!
I did the same thing!
In my snack box, typically:
apple
baby carrots or red bell pepper slices
cheese stick(s)
handful of almonds or walnuts
1/2 pb&j or cheese sandwich on good bread (high fiber/whole grain)
1 serving of mini low-fat pretzels
I keep a FiberOne bar in there too for emergencies (for when I have a huge sweet-tooth need and don't want to break down and get a candy bar)
I've got my crunchy (almonds/carrots), sweet (apple, FiberOne), salty (pretzels) & savory (cheese sticks). So no matter what I'm crazing...done!
You can get lil' snack-size plastic baggies from any store with all the others. They're perfect for making you stick to preportions0 -
Oh cool! Thanks, big help! the carrots are a really good Idea. *__*;0

I like reduced fat wheat things and cheese instead of a sandwich sometimes or how about rice cakes with peanut butter (I like the carmel ones).0

How about cereal such as Cheerios or Kix? They are low in calories for the size, give you something to snack on, and aren't heavy to carry around. As someone else said, just measure a serving into a little baggie to bring with you.
You might also put aside the change you are spending on vending machines--it adds up fast. Save it and buy yourself something fun each month--that helps you stay motivated.0
