Did you watch Sarah Palin on Oprah today?

I know I didn't. And I'm glad.

I don't know who is more of a ratings *kitten*. Her or Oprah. Tomorrow, Oprah has an entire hour on porn with a pornstar. Oh geez, anything with ratings these people will do it.

Is it a woman porn star or a man? or should I already know the answer.

I think that's a fair comment, but I kind of get sick of people bashing on Palin. It especially infuriates me how feminists bash her - I mean, you can say what you want about her feelings on abortion, women's rights etc - but before she was even a blip on our radar, she became a mayor of a (relatively, for Alaksa) major city and then became governor of the biggest state in the union.

She's achieved a lot - especially in a 'man's world.' And like Margaret Thatcher, who I grew up with (I'm British) I think it's pretty amazing how much she achieved by playing by men's rules. A lot more than many feminists who refuse to play the game unless those 'men's rules' get changed.

In a hundred years, Palin will be remembered as a female icon for all that she achieved and all the feminists who bash her will not be remembered for calling her all those names or attacking her achievements.

As just for the record, I write this coming from a liberal background. I can't stand Palin's policies, I think she's an idiot for believing in some of the things she does and, as an atheist, her religious convictions both scare and infuriate me.

I have the potential to be the biggest Palin-basher on the planet, but I'm not simply because I think respect is needed where it's due and she did a lot.

I didn't watch Oprah. I really like Palin though. I admire her strength, honesty and courage in Alaskan politics. She truly works for the people and she accomplished a LOT for the state of Alaska. (We are from there). I believe she is truly a person who got into politics because she wanted to make things better, not for fame or fortune. That is rare these days, and I value that. I really respect that about her. She really cleaned house when it came to "dirty politicians" in both parties and boy, was Alaska full of them! (Most of our country is in my opinion.) That ticks people off and makes enemies real quick. I WISH I had that kind of strength. Alaskans benefited from her determination to "do the right thing" though.

I really try to look at people with an open mind and appreciate the exchange of ideas and opinions. I get annoyed with how some people are so prejudice politcally that they will throw away a person because they are a Democrat or Republican. We do ourselves a disservice and "cut off our nose to spite our face". We would be SO much better off if we had fair, open debate about the issues...both pros and cons, and had more people like Palin in BOTH parties.

    Just my two cents....

    That's funny.

Ok, back to Palin. I didn't watch Oprah but I heard on the news that in the book, Sarah Palin called Katie Couric's questioning of her during the interview as "badgering." and was offended by Couric's line of questioning. No wonder, Palin and Carrie Prejean are such good friends. When award winning journalist question them, they both take it defensively and call it badgering, inappropriate, walk off, etc.

What else do you expect from a couple of ex-beauty queens.

The only reason I watched Oprah last night was because Sarah Palin was on. I never watch Oprah because personally, I think she's an over-rated bimbo who'll fall for anything. I really admire Sarah Palin because she shares my values and morals and I believe she's a down to earth kind of person and is just what this country needs.

    Just my opinion.

I just feel like Sarah Palin knows a whole lot of nothing. I don't think she is very honest, either. I do respect her for being a woman and trying to do what she is trying to do...but I would be VERY worried about living in a country run by that woman.
