at people who must think they are the very first person to ever struggle with weight loss.

All the diet programs available on the market make it sound like losing weight is so easy. The first time someone actually tries one of those programs or plans, he/she is surprised at how difficult it actually is.
If P90X advertised that their program was so hard that the vast majority of people won't make it through the first workout, that you'll barely be able to walk for three days after failing at your first attempt and that making it more than a week is rare on that exercise program, would anyone plunk down hundreds of dollars? Nope. So they make it look like that in 90 days you can go from a blob to a fitness model.
Yep, weight loss is hard. That is why 90% of the people who try fail. Of the 10% who succeed, about half of those folks will gain the weight back within 5 years. Those stats won't sell DVD's or Weight Watchers memberships.0 -

And yet they are still very likely to ignore the help available to them, and choose instead to whine and make excuses.
Sometimes it's hard not to just scream "RTFM!" over and over.0 -

You should vent your frustrations against people on the forums and then get a warning like I did.

I don't think I even have the words. It's more of this feeling that makes me want to pull out my own hair.0 -

I know the feeling.
But luckily, you can also use the internet to access porn. I don't know if you knew that, but now that you do. I hope it helps.0 -

aww pms? lol
i'm irritated by people who moan everyday about gaining .5 of a pound even tho its obviously nothing
i mean come on peopleeeeeee..0 -
I feel the same way, it's not rocket science, I know at time it may feel like it, but fish is better than hamburgs, baked and grilled is better than fried, veggies and fruit really is better than candy bars, stay away from sauces and butter. Use a tablespoon of salad dressing instead of half a cup. Home made is better than fast food or boxed food. Self control IS something to strive for. Get up and move even if it's just down the street and back its better than sitting in the chair all day. When you learn to control your portions and your choices is when you learn to control your weight.0

I have a friend (not on MFP) who does this constantly... she moans every day about how hard it is to lose weight and how she can't lose any weight at all, and despite my throwing tons on information at her about moderation and BMR and TDEE (she way undereats by a ton all week and then binges pretty much every weekend) she refuses to change her habits and tells me I'm "so lucky" that I managed to lose the weight. It makes me want to face punch.0

Sometimes I think having too much information exacerbates the problem. Seriously.
What I don't understand is the apparent shock that junk food is bad for you and that exercise should be intentional.0 -
There is no cure for people who are ignorant and have no will-power.
But, angeldaae, if that profile pic is you.. your eyes are gorgeous.0 -

The very fact that you actually took the initiative and Googled it means that you are probably not one of the people that folks will have to shout "RTFM!" to very often... Just sayin'... :happy:0 -
