Confused about exerise calories

So I am a little confused....are we supposed to eat our exercise calories that are added on to our base calories? I thought if we did that, then we wouldn't have a negative amount of calories and then there would be no weight loss. But I have read a couple of different places on this site where members are saying to eat the exercise calories.....can someone please clarify this for me?

Your target already has a deficit built in so yes....That said it is pretty common for people to overestimate calories burned/underestimate calories consumed. So try to be as exact as you can.0

In theory since MFP already factors in a deficit, yes. Many people don't though, and some like me eat back ~some.0
