    Good morning SIXERS ! We are heading into another week, one we need to stay focused and determined with! By statistics they say people start slacking in three weeks and drop out in four! Let's prove those stats wrong!!! I am CHALLENGING you ALL to 1 pound this week! Come on WE can do this!!! Good job to those that lost or maintained this past week and to those who did not Let's have a good week! LOG-- WATER-- and EXERCISE !!!!! Best wishes at being a LOSER!!!!

    Hello again everyone... Just an update on the medical front. Got my nose splints out yesterday. Those things are honking huge! I can breathe again! Still have to take it easy for another week though. I thought about taking the dog for a walk this morning, but it's only 25, and I'm not sure if breathing the cold air is good for either my nose or my throat... Maybe this afternoon, it's supposed to be sunny and up to 50. I also plan on washing everyone's sheets and putting them out to dry, who knows when the snow will hit and I can't do it any more. The next couple of days are going to be rainy, so it's today or nothing.

    Got up early today, took the oldest to 6am dryland training for the swim team. He was not a happy camper, but I'm guessing next week will be easier, because he'll have it down by then. Dryland is available M,W,F but I told him he only has to go once a week, and fit in some weight training over the weekend. I dunno, maybe he'll enjoy it so much he'll want to go more. LOL, sure a 16 year old wanting to get up early to exercise... Ha

    Was able to eat a bit of real food for dinner last night, I had baked chicken over a bed of mixed rice. So, I had a little rice, a little chicken, and about 10 peas. I'm struggling with the choice for breakfast. I've got oatmeal, I've got eggs, I've got yogurt, I can make a fruit smoothie.... Or I can have ice cream. LOL It shouldn't be this hard... My throat isn't that sore anymore, I can't make the excuse that ice cream will make it feel better. But that's what I'm telling myself, ha.

    Anyways, hope you all have a good day. Susan, I just want to give you a big thumbs up. In reading through a bunch of posts since I dropped off back in early October, you've really stuck out as a big cheerleader for the whole group. Just wanted to say that your motivating spirit really comes through.

    I've lost weight since Monday but gained since last week. I could blame TOM, I could blame stress but honestly -- I am allowing myself to emotionally eat. I'm not even sure what emotions I'm eating, I just know it was happening last night. I recognize it, which is the most critical part, and now I will start to handle it. Emotional eating is like alcoholism imo -- I will always be in recovery, never 'recovered'.

    Great night last night, I put away my hip hop dance DVD, and started a new one: BIGGEST LOSER BOOTCAMP!!!! (I <3 Bob) I grabbed my mom and made her do it with me! We both got to work at our own paces, and I actually kind of had fun( but shhhhhhhhhhhh working out is suppose to be torture! :tongue: ) I didn't really have dinner because I had a bigggg Lunch, (3 slizes of pizza :noway: ).

    Today, I am gunna do 3 sets of squats, lunges, crunches, and push ups, before I leave for class! (I have a plan that is broken up by morning, mid-day, and evening! AM = reps, MID = walking/stairs, PM: alt, between 1 night DVD and next swimming laps/running. Last night was DVD so tonight is swimming laps!) PLUS!!!!! Tonight is my Step class, which if you have never done and you at least have O.K. knees I would totally recommend. I <3 it. Im sad next week is the last week! :cry:

    Kristin, good to see you pop in. How is work going? How is life, learning to juggle mommyhood, wifehood, and workerdom? It's taxing but we women are specially made to handle it!

    T, you are in ONDERLAND!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drinker: :drinker: You have been ROCKING the weight loss! Keep it up girl!!!

    Melanie, for Thanksgiving, eat what you want for sure, but try to eat smaller portions of the things you know you shouldn't have. Get double helping of the lower calorie veggies and only one spoonful of mashed potatoes, for example. Try to savor that small portion of what tastes devilishly delicious, but still try to limit the amount of it you eat. That combined with a good afternoon walk, and you won't ruin your weight loss in the least. You will just be able to enjoy the holiday while still recognizing a healthier lifestyle!

    Nicole/Colie, hope you are enjoying the new job. Being on your feet all day can be a hard adjustment, but the weight loss is a real added bonus!!!

    AmyLou, Hi!!! Have you heard back about the internships? Fellowships? Crap.... the Something-For-School-ships? :wink:

    Nicolee, we all have weight gain weeks. Don't fret over it. Get back up and start fighting for the weight loss! It's a long term goal..... All good things take time :smile:

    Erin, yay for the 150s!!! :drinker: Breaking into the 150s for me was SO EXCITING. I'm on the cusps of the 140s now and reaaaaaaaaally wanting it!! haha

    Lauryn - HIIIII!!! I miss all of you guys! HOLY COW! GREAT JOB ON UR WEIGHTLOSS! :) That is super awesome u look amazing in ur pic! haha and ya.. pizza is SOOO good, yet sooooooo bad haha. And I dumped my loser bf, he is apparently WAY into drugs now, has put on at least 20 pounds, and is dating someone who is the COMPLETE opposite of me, except she looks just like me! (but 20 pounds heavier then me). Fam is amazing though! My mom is doing great! My little brother turned 18 in september! I am having fun with my friends, and really focusing on my future, and having fun while I am young! I got into an exclusive Divemaster Academy! (I am going to be leaving the VERY cold MI for the VERY warm Florida for a month this winter holiday season!) I am graduating with my associates in May, and entering the coast guard reserves in the fall, and joining a top college there that winter! My life is amazing! NOW I just need to shed the weight! :grumble:

    I am not officially weighing in this week. I started taking a med that I used to take for my stomach. It came out over the counter. Well, I had high hopes that it didnt have the same side effects that it did when it cost me $150 per mth. No such luck! I am super weight gain. Luckily I have some prescribed meds to combat that. I will weigh in on Friday when that yuck is gone and I can truely calculate my progress.

    Great job to all with such good weight loss!

    There are just so many that it is hard to keep up and do personals. I dont know how some of you do it! A pen and a pad of paper is needed here!

    Haha, I am separated from my husband, who is dating a girl who looks just like me too, so much that people have mistaken her for me, saying they saw us together, and I'm like, "Um, NO." :laugh: Boys are stupid. Dump the loser!!! Yay us!

    I am so excited to hear how great things are in your life now! I love the positive vibes flowing from you. Perpetual sunshine!!

    The weight loss came mostly from stress, but some from more controlled eating. I've got about 20lbs to go and I know they will eventually come off. I'm happy with that. :smile:

    One of my dear friends did Coast Guard and LOVED IT. I hope you have the same experience!

    Hehe! I open two windows and in one window hit 'reply' to write personals, using the other window to go back through the thread. It IS a lot, I love it!!!! Such movement and fresh new faces, older faces, and those coming back to join us!

    Good Morning to All!!!!

    Well I had to check the scale this morning because I just couldn't believe yesterday..... I am back down to 152 ( I knew the gain was because of the chinese food I ate the day before) However I plan on leaving it the way I posted. This way I will feel better by next week. Worked out hard yesterday and plan on the same today. I probably won't be going to work today due to the rain last night. It's a bit wet out. Still need to check with my customer. Well just finishing my second cup of coffee and now need to go feed the cows. So I'll check in later.

    Great job tonight. I'm proud of you for your restaurant choices - that's very hard to do. When I make a healthier choice, at first, I feel sorry for myself, that I can't have the calorie laden food like other people can have. But later, I feel very proud that I was able to navigate through the challenge. For example, I ordered soup and salad for my birthday dinner a few weeks ago. Hello?:noway: A special occasion....soup & salad?:noway: Isn't that a ticket for at least something fried or in a heavy cream sauce, with butter and cheese? Usually. But it sure felt good the next day, when I didn't have to deal with the guilty aftermath. The food really wasn't worth it.

    I feel the same way. I feel deprived when I see dh eating the fried chicken filet sandwich & kiddos eating the yummy chicken nuggets, but the wrap was so yummy that I felt happy with my choice after a few minutes. I'm sure being "spicy" it was higher in sodium, but that's part of why I'm drinking my water! It also helped that dh got the fruit cup instead of fries also. I just have to stop the rationalization that "I ate healtiher, therefore I can get the ice cream". DH got some, so of course, it sounded good. :grumble: I did only have half since I shared it with the kids.

    Susan - thanks for the pic - you're too funny!! Wish I looked like her - but that gives me a good visual. Your granddaughter is adorable!

    Verda - Hypothyroidism is such a challenge. My step-daughter has it - it runs in her mom's family. The poor thing is so discouraged because it is such a difficult uphill battle when your meds aren't right.
    Thanks for the challenge and kick in the butt this week!! 1 pound - I can do it!! Just keep walking...just keep walking...

    B - Although I'm a newbie - welcome back. And great job losing 13 pounds while you were gone!!!

    Amy - Great comeback after having a bad food day! I'm sure 2.5 miles must have canceled out 1/2 a choc shake.

    Lauryn - I got the stressful emotional eating going too. UGH - at least I went for my walk the other night when someone really upset me. I usually just eat but was so upset that I went and walked it off. Felt a bit better when I got back and didn't run to the fridge.

    To those who gain - Thanks for being brave enough to post it. If I were the only one, then I'd probably not even post. You all are keeping me going.

    If I missed someone (not as good as Lauryn is at this) - well....congrats, hang in there, have a great week, and just keep moving!!

    oh! my local market style store, nino savagios (i live in MI)
    had a great asparagus soup recipe tht i used to have. it was super low in cal and delicious! i bet could look online n find a similar one.. just make sure its low in sodium!

    Ice cream has ALWAYS been my weakness which I horribly gave into while I was pregnant! But a good alternative is a low-fat graham cracker split in half. Put some Cool Whip Free on top and then top with the other half of the graham cracker. Stick it in the freezer for a while and voila! Mock ice cream sandwich! And for some variety, add some vanilla flavoring to the cool whip or some cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice...YUM!:tongue: I think I'll make some tonight!
