    concentrate on size reduction not just weight.

    monitor your weight each day - as a reinforcer for yourself

    set realistic goals which include a slow weight loss program.

    This is for a lifestyle change! Not just temporary weight loss. Rapid loss will mean rapid gain afterwards.
