Insatiable cravings for milk?

I'm not much of a milk drinker as I am lactose intolerant but as of late, I can't get enough of the stuff to the point where I'm drinking 4 pints in a day.
I've heard that craving certain things means that your body is lacking in something?
I can't be lacking in calcium as I get most of my calcium from other sources such as tofu, nuts and dark green veg.
What could it be?

Some times you just want it. I find myself just standing in front of the fridge with my glass because i am drinking it so fast.

    Protein perhaps?

I was told the same thing by my doctor during my first pregnancy, that we crave things because our body needs something that is in food "X", so our brains tell us that we must have it. At that time, I couldn't go a day without a popsicle.
    In January.
    In Vermont.
Dr. told me that waht my body was really craving was WATER, and since I didn't have sense enought to drink water, my brain was fooling me to get more water in another form.
