Knee not right now

I have not been able to go jogging since last Sunday. The day after I went last week, my left knee was sore so I've been resting it. It's just getting worse though. Walking is not bad, but having to bend it or put weight on it when getting up from a knelled down position is PAINFUL now. It pops every time its bent now. No history of knee damage. Did not fall or twist on it. im a big indian style sitter so this is driving me insane LOL Any ideas? I've rested a week now and REALLY want to go running again but it feels worse.

    it could really be anything..if you run often, it could simply be some sort of inflammation in the joint..bursitis..rest, alternate ice and heat and anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofin) should help.

    there are times when i run my ankle gets painful, and for me its all about rest..i stop running and do another less impact cardio like the bike.

    if the pain persists, see an orthopaedic doctor. they will probably start off with xrays, and maybe move to an MRI to find out what is wrong.
