8K walk tonight

There is a stretch of road near my house that they decorate with Christmas lights (this is also where I like to bike and walk) and before it officially opens for the cars on Thursday they are holding an 8K walk/run through the lights tonight and a 16K bike through the lights tomorrow.

I am doing the walk tonight....I would love to do the bike, but I can't bike in anything less than about 65 degrees because the wind on my face and ears is just awful. I'm excited!

I think I am ready....I just don't know what to wear. It will be between 45 and 47 degrees during the walk. I've got gloves and earmuff things on my list, but I am unsure about a coat. Should I just wear several layers like a few shirts and a fleece, or should I wear my down winter coat? I'm thinking the layers would be best.

I would go with layers. Much more comfortable for a walk/run.

Love your profile picture! That shirt is awesome!

It depends on how fast you are walking. I do an 8 K walk on Saturdays and we do it in 70 minutes. I find that a fleece jacket is good enough

Thanks, are you going to see New Moon? We're going to the opening midnight show. Thank goodness I can take Friday morning off work so I can get some Zzzzzz's.

It was great, I wanted to finish in an hour and 20 minutes and I finished at an hour and 18 minutes! I ended up doing the layer thing and the only thing that really bugged me was my face was a little cold and my earmuff things were smashing my Ipod earbuds into my ears. But otherwise I had a great time!

I'm glad it went well! I'm not going to see the movie until Saturday because I want to see it with my best friend...so I'm going from Houston to Dallas just to see it with her! I'm such a dork
