Ladies, weight loss and TOM

Hi
I am about to complete my fourth week on MFP. My WI day is tomorrow and I decided to be naughty and weigh myself a day early and have lost nothing at all this week, my measurements are the same also. This is really disheartening as I have done plenty of exercise and ate back only half of my extra calories from exercise tops.
I am on the contraceptive implant and only get a period a few times a year, this week being one of them! I was wondering if TOM has affected anybody else's weight loss?
It seems like week four is very early in my weight loss given that I have about forty pounds to lose to stall already.

It was about 4 and a half months between my TOMs this last time (I have Mirena), and I had heard horror stories about women who couldn't lose any weight at all on the IUD, so I was really nervous. However, I have been losing just fine, had to stay committed was all. I have noticed that there is a bit of water retention for me around my TOM and it usually accounts for between two and five pounds. I think it is just due to the body preparing for fluid loss by hanging onto it for a few days ahead of time. Frustrating, but nothing I know to do about it.0

Yes it does affect *weight* loss, but it's just water, not fat. It comes off later in your cycle.
Don't just focus on scale weight, a lot of that is due to water. Focus on how much fat you are losing. If you're retaining water due to TOM this does not mean that you're not losing fat at the same time. The scale does not tell you the whole story. Look for changes in inch measurements as well, around the waist and hips (although you may get a little bloating during TOM as well due to water retention) and also look for trends over time, i.e. week by week, month by month, you're seeing the weight and inches come off. Ignore changes that you know are due to water, e.g. TOM and daily fluctuations in weight, etc.0 -
Thanks, wondered if Ithere was a possible cause or not. So thanks for your answers!0
