Hi. I am training for the 100k Thames Path Chellenge at the end of September and did my 50k training walk on saturday in 30 degree heat. I drank plenty of water and gatorade and kept hydrated etc. I weighed this morning and I have put on 4lbs?? DO you think this is because maybe I haven't kept hydrated afterwards? I did eat a lot of carbs saturday evening but apart from that I don't understand it. I do know that this can happen. Do you think my muscles are holding water?
Thanks in advance for any advice

You're right, it's muscles holding water to repair micro-tears from such a long walk. Water is also stored along with extra carbs you consume to replenish energy burned. If you had a big dinner remember that will still be in your gut too. I'm always heavier after a long run. You'll be back to normal tomorrow.0
