Hello guys, I have abdominal hernia from about a year. I continued my workout without caring that. Now it is getting worse. And I have consulted a specialist of Shouldice hospital, Canada. They arranged an ubdominal surgey for me in next week. Is that surgery dangerous? How long should I keep my workouts and deadlifts aside? Please share your advice.

your dr will give you feedback on returning to fitness following the surgery. My husband had this a few years ago and was back to running within 9 days. However, he does tend to be a quick healer. He wasn't lifting at the time so I have no comment on that.0

In most cases the recovery time is a matter of days instead of weeks. Still it is better to keep aside all those stressful workouts for a while. You will surely resume within few weeks. It is at shouldice Hospital itself my dad had his hernia surgery. He was able to resume his sports and workouts just after a month. So you can fearlessly continue with this idea.0

Make sure to ask your doc these questions, advice from strangers are the internet can be a good guideline but nothing beats solid info from a real doc!0
