Hi everyone.
Ive been battling my weight for several years now and have a few medical issues that are contributing to it. Back in the day I would sit and watch season after season of The Biggest Loser and thought it could be a motivator for me. But after watching so many, I realized that they are going about it the wrong way and it is sending mixed messages for workouts etc.
So right now I have High Blood Pressure, Acid Reflux, and am struggling with Goiter (Enlarged Thyroid). Ive been on a regiment of multi-vitamins with Iodine for several months in the hopes it has made a difference. I wont know until i get another blood panel done to check the TSH levels.
I will be 32 at the end of the year and Ive reached my tolerance level for my current status. I'm tired of being overweight. I'm tired of shopping plus sized. (and that's another thing, department stores have recently been downsizing their women's section so clothing selection is nil!)
I have 5 wonderful nieces and nephews that I want to be able to keep up with. I also want to be healthy for myself. I'm tired of being out of breath by doing yard work or playing with the dogs.
My aunt wants to be my workout partner but her health is worse than mine, she doesn't make an effort regularly to go to the gym so I'm usually flying solo.
I'm eager to learn and want so very badly to make this the turning point in my life.

Welcome and best of luck! I'm sure you'll be successful.
I highly recommend checking out "Eat to Live" by Dr. Fuhrman. It's excellent for weight loss and helps with reversing some of the problems you mentioned having. It's worth looking into at least.0 -
good luck
I have found that joining MFP has really helped motivate me and keep me on the straight and narrow, I hope you will feel the same way very soon.
