Dream binges

Last night I dreamt that I binged. Like a crazy binge where I just about ate everything. In my dream it was awesome but then I woke up in tears. What's wrong with me? Does anybody else get this?

I just recently started dreaming about eating bad food! Haha. I ate like 3 cupcakes the other night and woke up feeling so guilty until I realized it never happened! So funny

Its just the food devil...lol... nothings wrong...its ok to have dreams like that. my first week consisted of fried food and ice cream. besides you are live your food fantasies through your dreams...enjoy no weight gain there.
  • Is my diary able to be seen by people I'm not friends with? I mean I've had these dreams before. It's a relief when I wake up and not true, but still.

Yeah, it happens sometimes to me. Usually after I make something impossibly indulgent for someone else and I'd die to have some of it, but can't because a) it's not for me and b) even if it was, it still wouldn't be worth the extra calories.

The first couple times I actually jumped from my bed in panic and went straight to the kitchen to make sure it was really all a dream, now I just wake up and smile. :)

hey, it's okay. your body prolly doesn't like you cutting off it's food supply the way you are from the way you were before you joined. but in your heart and mind you know that you don't want to do that anymore.

    it's okay.

yeah i used to dream about eating tons of french fries or i even once dreamt that I accidentally ate a hamburger and then realized what i'd done (i'm vegan) and threw it back up lol. And I always dream that 'd binge on things that I would never allow myself to eat especially in large quantities like cookies candy processed things etc. I hate those dreams! I have anxiety in real life and when I dream about food it gives me anxiety in my sleeping state to!

I wake up feeling so stressed because I really believe that I ate it!! It's so annoying. I just want them to stop!!

Weird! I've started having binge dreams since I started dieting. In my last dream, I couldn't stop eating chocolate chip cookies. I woke up pretty upset until I realized that we didn't actually have cookies in the house, so there was no way I actually binged in my sleep :).

sounds like something that happens when you are OVERLY restrictive in a bad way. how many calories are you eating daily?

When I first changed my lifestyle (nutrition/portion awareness and started working out), I had so many dreams about food. It was a bit unsettling for a while, but eventually it stopped.....and then I started dreaming about the issues that I'd been stifling with food.

Depends what you were binging on. A few years ago I went on Atkins for a few months and I found that low carb gives me carb binging dreams. I would dream about downing donuts, cakes, cookies, whole loves of bread, muffins, cup cakes, meat pies . . . it was like a bakery smorgasbord. Talking to my mom and sister, they went through the same thing . . . it was worse than the smoking dreams I had when I quit those a few years before. So if that's what's going on, then yes. What I learned from it was that between that and a few other psychological things that happened as a result, I'm not a good low carber and really shouldn't do it.

Like one of the folks above, I'm vegetarian and once had a dream I was riding in a car with friends eating. I looked down, realized it was fried chicken with the skin on and everything...I was even cleaning the bones....freaked out...spit it all up, then woke up suddenly, disgusted...funny thing is, the next day I went to a picnic, and they had fried chicken. *grossed out*

I dream about food all the time. Like I can't shove the food in fast enough. Oddly, though, I don't think I've had that dream since I started on my healthy eating lifestyle. Interesting.

Or maybe you really did which is why you didnt have them... Lol kidding

I have these dreams too or if I crave something and I keep thinking about eating it I feel guilty like I did eat it. Its so weird. I have never experienced withdraw from drugs or alcohol because I have never been addicted but I imagine it is like this. We are addicted to bad foods and our minds and bodys think we need it and want it so we day or night dream about having it.

Around 1,200 maybe more if I exercise alot

I thought this was going to be a "what's your dream binge?" post. Disappointed.

Oh go on then, mine would be:

    - bowl after bowl of crunchy organic fruit-packed museli with greek yoghurt and a tiny bit of ice cold milk
    - kitkats, lots of kitkats, milk chocolate four finger bars
    - melted mature cheddar cheese on thick sourdough with dijon mustard - three slices
    - massive slab hot sticky toffee pudding with a tiny bit of custard
    - salt beef bagels with hot hot mustard
    - peanut butter brittle smashed over good vanilla ice cream

    Now that's a dream binge.

I've given up candy and sweets, and the other night I had a dream I went to Olive Garden and accidentally ate one of those Andes Candies before I realized it. Then dream me was like "Oh well, I already messed up" and ate another. -_-

Not a binge, but it was an interesting food dream.

Thats probably the problem. You're 19, you can and should be eating more.

The ironic thing is that I just had my first dream binge last night and then I saw this topic on my home page. In my dream I ate a literal fistful of chocolate chip cookie dough...and then a huge bowl of Neopolitian ice cream! The weird thing is that I don't even like Neopolitian ice cream. I woke up saying to myself "What was I thinking? Now I'm gonna feel horrible the whole day." And then I realized that it was a dream.
