Running shoe recommendations for a flat footer???

I have a 5K coming up and my cross trainers are killing me, I definitely need running shoes. I have feet that flatten quite a bit and seem to always be on a quest for good shoes. Can anyone recommend the brand that they found worked for them for flat feet for running? Also, my feet are slightly on the wider side, not enough to truly be wide, but almost inbetween regular and wide.
