I am new to this sight but definitely NOT new to this journey.
I started officially in 2004 at a whopping 255 pounds. Over time I lost 64 pounds. I started with Weight Watchers, and eventually just counted calories. Fitness and health have always been my motivators and the journey I have taken from 2004 until now has been intense to say the least.
I have learned much.
For the last year I have been wearing a Body Media Fit arm band and using their tracking system. But I most recently left them and now I am here.
I am not new to this, have had several weight loss blogs here and there and have been in other communities (Spark People and Buddy Slim)
But now its time for something new. I have since regained about 30 of those original 64. And I am really sick of it. I seem to lose and regain the same 15 pounds every year. I struggle to break that cycle.
I have recommited to getting this weight off the right way once and for all. I have a mother and a sister who have recently had bariatric surgery and its just NOT a route I want to go down.
So for this round I am aiming for 60 pounds over all. I am a huge fan of working out, staying fit and active. I go to the gym, walk and ride my bike. I do several 5 and 10ks. I am a VERY fit fat girl!
I try to avoid fast food and processed food of all sorts. I watch calories, sugars and most recently carbs. I try to cook local, eat local and shop local. HUGE HUGE HUGE advocate against childhood obesity.
Always looking for weight loss buddies and feel I have had the MOST success when I surround myself with like minded people who are also fighting this fight.
