Any tips would be nice thank you xxx

I have been told to do "Bricks" have got that, have not tried it yet but have the concept, have found 2 different places in Bristol ranging from £30 and £60 a year to swim in outdoor lake. also up the downs for the bricks so can bike ride go in the middle of the grass drop the bike and run......... Just doing sprint training to make sure I am strong enough.

So things are looking good, BUT I want to hear from you, your personal experiences, if I keep asking people I meet they will start to run from me ;)

~Thank you, best clothes, trainers for bike riding, blah blah.........

Thank you in advance. x

  • Wish I had some advice but I've never done a tri. Just keep training the way you do and you will do great.

i just finished my first about 3 weeks ago. It was AWESOME. I felt like I was on top of the world!

A few things I learned in the process:

-Figure out what your best at... and STOP spending all your time on it! Start working on what you are least good at. (I didnt like swimming as much, only did it 1-2 times a week... my swim leg took an extra 10 minutes, and it was terrifying.)

-Do a brick a week. You can do them shorter then the race distance, but the point is to learn how to "run on dead legs".

-Practice your transitions. They eat up time.

    -GET GOOD GOGGLES!

-Be realistic with yourself. Dont beat yourself up for not placing in your age group your frist tri. (im very competitive, often placing in road running events... I did not like NOT placing! lol)

    Most importantly, have fun
