Going back to 1st grade!
Well for starters... I'm getting a minor psychology. I LOVE it. It's always so interesting.
ANYWAYS... I'm currently in a class about changing behaviors. Operant conditioning is one method that can be used to change a particular behavior. SO, I want to experiment on myself and see if I can change my habits by using the concepts of operant conditioning. I jokingly just posted on someone's update about getting myself gold stars then I actually thought about it and decided maybe gold stars really wouldn't be such a bad idea. Just like when we were kids in elementary school and would get stars (or something similar) that we could then use to "buy" things at the end of the week or keep them to save for a bigger prize.
So I will literally be going out tomorrow to buy gold stars and most likely a poster board of some kind. I'll draw a calendar on the poster board - I think I'll try to make it September - December (and maybe make a week for the rest of August). For everyday that I hit calories I'll get a star and if I workout that day I'll get a star. This will give me the potential of two stars per day.
I'm trying to think of what my rewards will be for however many stars I get. I'm thinking of going in increments of 50 so I would get a reward about everyone month or so depending on my dedication.
If anyone has any cool/fun ideas of rewards POST THEM UP! :]
