Two weeks in and I've already done a marathon!

Got your attention, huh? So here's the thing...
Those of us with a Loooooong way to go to reach our goals tend to look at things like this: "I have so far to go." and not "Wow, look how well I've done!" or "I can ONLY walk ten minutes and I get winded. I can't work out." instead of "I'm going to do the best I can and tomorrow, or even later today, I'll do a little better and keep getting better!". Then we give up.
Well today I had an epiphany and while I'm sure someone somewhere on here has had it themselves and shared, I think it's worth sharing again. There is still the better part of several billion people on this Earth that haven't "got it" yet...
Today I finished my first marathon... At 263#/5'8". Now, it took a LOT of hours over MANY days, but yeah, 26.2 miles. I deserve to be proud of that instead of continuing to mourn to being able to run or to walk for a full hour or whatever arbitrary number I want to force on my "not ready for it yet" body. I'm going to celebrate this, dangit!!
Just goes to show that "do what you can" adds up, so for those of us that aren't runners (yet?) start with five minutes a day or even just a commercial break during your couch surfing. Do whatever. Just do a little something then do a little more. It will add up!! And it will be something you can be proud of!!!
