Walking on the job, do you count it as exercise?

I was wondering this as well, because I know some people that do. Another girl I work with does, and I don't. I also work in a hospital. Its different day to day the amount I walk, but I just put myself as lightly active. If I burn off more than its counted for, just an added bonus.

Just curious, I walk a lot at work and was wondering, do you still burn fat even though your heart rate is not elevated???

Cashier for home improvement here. I stay on my feet the whole shift but I don't do enough movement in a general day to call it exercise. I do try to make fast paced 'laps' around the garden center during the dead days, but I don't count that as exercise either, just keeping moving. But gardening, housework(think anything that raises heartbeat for longer than 15 mins) and dog walks I do count.

And I think my coworkers think im nuts
