Sacred Heart Cleanse

I'm on day four of the cleanse (it's banana day and it just might kill me). I didn't really need this cleanse, as I'm careful about what I eat and exercise 5 - 6 days a week, but I did it to support my husband and to encourage his jump start. He's lost 13 lbs in 10 days as he's doing the cleanse for two weeks before he starts a sustainable food plan. I don't really have any water weight to lose, so my loss has been much less dramatic, but in the 4 days I've been on this, I've basically lost a pound a day.

For those thinking of doing this, a few words of warning:
1. First of all you have to like soup. I hate soup. All soup. It's a texture thing, don't ask. This has not been a fun week for me. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to steak and tomato day.
2. Second, for best results, you can't cheat. Just remember, you can put up with almost anything for a week.
3. Third, and I'm serious about this one, if you have blood sugar issues, this diet WILL change your blood sugar levels. My husband is a type two diabetic. He's been very careful about checking his blood sugar through this cleanse and is currently on about half of his normal insulin intake because more lowers his sugar way too much. I am the opposite, I'm hypoglycemic. Even after I eat, my sugar rarely gets above 80 - 100. I've had more low blood sugar issues this week than I usually have in a month or more. I talked to my doctor about this cleanse before I did it and am doing it with his blessing. I encourage everyone to do the same especially if you have any sort of preexisting condition.
4. And last, remember this is not a long term diet. This is a cleanse. This gets rid of your water weight and gives you a fast start to a more permanent solution. I will keep this one in my back pocket for when I plateau, but this is not something anyone could do for long.

Just thought I'd throw some info out there for anyone thinking of doing this.
