I've just recently split from my long term girlfriend of nearly 4 years. Why is it so dam hard to recover from a break up. Since we broke up on the 16th august i just haven't been really the same person, im not eating very much and im sad, bottling all the emotions up inside is starting to hurt more and more each day. To get rid of the pain i have been pushing myself extremely hard at the gym to kinda take away some of the pain inside but everyday it just gets more and more harder to hold back the tears. Trying to put on a happy face in front of people when your broken inside is so difficult especially when you know that they know your hurting.

i know how it feels , exercising to take away the pain , to keep your mind off it , but it never helps when your sat their on a night wondering how the hell your gonna cope without them !
its a pain thats hurts but it does get better !! honestly it does .
i dont know if its your thing but keeping a diary of every thought and emotion and letting it out on paper , really helps , i know it did me .
and the way i thought of it was , im gonna get a better body , and one day their gonna turn around and wish this had never happend , and by then youll be stronger

I'm so sorry to hear that. I also had a 6 year relationship that ended in break up so I know how painful it is. Give yourself time to grieve but afterwards, move on.
In my case, my mantra for break-up is "It's his loss, not mine"0 -
Ya know...its okay for a guy to cry over losing someone he loves. Just take it slow and sit down alone and have a good long cry every now and then... That'a about all the advice I can give, its tough and boy do these times SUCK. Praying you will find comfort and the strength to eventually move on.
