Non Scale Weight loss

So I'm a person who the second I start a "diet" I get obsessed with the scale. I'm thinking maybe I should not even look at the scale except every three months when I go to the DR for my Depo shot. Anyone else here NOT weight themselves on a regular basis and found it helpful? Found it not helpful? I get frustrated when I see other people at the same weight, but I feel like I look so much heavier than they do! So I figure maybe taking a number out of the equation might help. Thanks!
