What are you thankful for?
Just wanted to start a thread to wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday.
Might as well start off this thread saying I'm so very thankful for my wonderful husband and great kids. My parents and siblings who are always entertaining and there to help when needed. And I can't express my gratitude enough to every person serving or has served in the military - thank you for everything you are doing/have done for this great country. Be safe!

What a great thread idea!
I am thankful for my wonderful family and friends. I am also thankful for my health and the fact that I had a good childhood and was raised by loving parents. I have the greatest BF in the world and I am thankful for the fact that I have a job.0 -
What an absolutely beautiful thread!! Thank you for thinking of it
I am thankful for my family; my wonderful, loving husband who is such a leader. He is my lover, my friend, my hero... For my two beautiful children. They are my joy and my delight!! I fully understood love on a new level when I held then in my arms for the first time. For my parents and my sisters... they are such a huge part of me; of who I am today. For this amazing country that I live in, America... We have our problems and I may not agree with those in leadership all of the time...but all in all, my country is the BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!! I love her with my whole heart~ I am VERY GREATFUL for the men and women who lay down there lives to defend our country and freedom everyday. They are continually in my prayers!!
I am thankful for friends. My friends keep me sane when life gets a little crazy!! They will never really know what they mean to me no matter how many times or ways I try to express it to them
AND... I am thankful for MFP!! I have made some beautiful friends here who encourage me and motivate me to my goal of becoming healthy!!0 -
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow MFPers! Don't eat too much this holiday season!
I'm thankful that I am blessed with life each and every day. I have breath in my lungs and a sound mind. I'm also thankful for the love from my husband and children as well as their health and well being. We don't live in a mansion or drive fancy cars but I can honestly say that I have ALL I need!0 -
I'm thankful for everything God has blessed me with - my family and my job, my healthy and happiness. Sometimes you go around life thinking about all the things u don't have (and do't necessarily need) that you forget to enjoy what's in front of you.
I'm thankfull that I will have the opportunity to see my family for Christmas because I have already missed them all year long!0 -
I am EXTREMELY thankful to have a stable job. i've been thinking alot about this lately and counting my blessings for this daily. We have been so very fortunate to have felt very little effects of our recession...actually it's been good for us as we have been able to take advantage of various deals and offers. I have friends who are not so fortunate and am doing what I can to help them any way possible.
I hope eveyone has a very wonderful holiday!!0 -
For true story 'The Blindside' for sunlight, for my faith, for good health in spite of myself!! for good people, for critters! and always- family0

the sun and the rain....
the list goes on and is truly endless...each day is a blessing for me0 -

When my husband TDY'd to Korea, I decided to move over there myself  Of course, its an unaccompanied tour, so I was solely "on my own" so to speak... I got an apartment there and worked so I had to the visa that allowed me to do so... We did not have children at the time, so it worked out well. It was a great experience for me... We had only been married 7 months when he got his orders... I'm glad it worked out that way... It was the first time I had ever been overseas...
He was stationed at Osan Air Force base there..... All in all, the Korea tour is not that bad! I know your BIL will miss you guys dearly, though....0 -

My bro-in-law had that option, his wife could go with him but chose not to because if she did it would be a two year commitment instead of a one year. She'll be staying at my in-laws house (about a 10 minute drive from us). She has 5 kids from previous marriages but they're all grown so it's not as if he's leaving her here with people to care for. He's been to Korea before (a two year), Somalia, Kuwait, Iraq, Afganistan, and Germany (he jokes that he's been to all the 'stans'.)0
