building. I'm not saying for a muscle builder but just for someone that want to build muscle specifically.
I've heard that eating "your ideal weight" in protein grams is a good way to go. For me I am only figuring 115 as a goal now, that could change depending on the way my body shapes up. Also what I read says 1 to 1.5 grams per ideal weight so could be as high as 170ish in grams of protein.
I know that's a lot so I would like feedback from the weight-trainers on what their numbers are best at?
This would put me at higher protein then carbs again but I'll wait to hear back from some of you that have gotten great results:)
Thanks bunches, Denise

You are going to get dozens of different answers because opinions are like...well you get the rest, everyone has one.
So here is mine, given to me by a board certified bariatric physician. Women need 80 grams per day.0 -
Is this for weightlifting? Yes, I think you are right now that I went ahead and posted this. I'll figure it out and probably use what the book says that I am reading. It's by a guy that is military and he's trained men and women for special ops so he's gotta know some good numbers, you would think anyway:laugh:You are going to get dozens of different answers because opinions are like...well you get the rest, everyone has one.

My husband was a competitive bodybuilder for 10 years and he is currently a personal trainer who trains 3 female figure competitors. He told me to eat 1.5 gms per pound of LEAN body mass. I b^%*$ed and moaned and complained that I couldn't possibly eat 150+ gms of protein every day! .... And then I shut up and started doing it anyway, and that's the first time in my life I've seen dramatic changes in my body. I lifted a lot in my 20s, but never ate much protein at all and my body stayed soft. After having 2 children and having a 4-year 'break' from weight training--I finally started back at 35 years old. I've seen better results now than I did when I was young. If you don't know your LBM, you can eat 1 gm per pound of total body weight. Unless you're obese, it'll be a similar number.:flowerforyou:0
