Nike+ and Ipod Nano Question

I am considering the Nike+ for Ipod Nano. I have a couple questions before I buy. If I buy the latest Nano, I think it has all this built in and I don't have to buy the Nike+ Sports kit, which includes the chip. I just buy the Nano, which has the app installed and no chip is needed?. Is this correct? It's a little confusing on the Nike website. Thanks.

I have an old nano so have the kit. I know the program is preloaded on the new nano, but wouldn't you still need the sensor for the shoe??? I'm quite intersested to hear from someone who uses this as considering updating my ipod too!0

It must be built in. Haven't used it for running, just couple times for walking and it does work as a pedometer. I think there also is a function to enter you age, height, weight to personalise the data.0

I have a nano with the Nike+ app and have used it withouth the shoe chip. I found it to be amazingly accurate, not as accurate as GPS, but close enough if you don't want to spend the money for a GPS.0
