Am I the only who thinks that partying and having a good time makes it hard to stay in shape?

Yes..with alcohol being 100-200 calories per serving. It is very difficult staying in shape. I guess, save the partying for your cheat day lol.0

I'm with you on that one -- Just a couple of drinks throws my calories way over! :grumble:0

ive recently been on holiday to greece for 2 weeks. and i was drunk every single night. aswell as eating chips with every meal (twice a day) .. ive come home to find ive only gained 4lb and was fit enough to jump straight into the 30 Day Shred. I dont think drinking has a huge impact for me but thats just me.

Definitely... but sometimes we need to make sacrifices to better ourselves.. my bday is just over a week away and I'm dreading the calories for that night!! :drinker:0

I just try to balance it. if I know I'm going to party I try to work out a little harder to balance out the calories I'm going to consume from booze.0

yesss it sucks so much!! especially if you well, :smokin:
haha :drinker:0 -
it's a nightmare, actually. especially if you are someone like me who doesn't just have ONE drink. my new attack is to stick to skinny girl vodkas with seltzer and a splash of pineapple. so like 80 calories a drink. and if you eat right all day (meaning easy on the carbs and fat), it won't take as much to feel the effects.
not ideal, but better than being fat!0 -
I always burned the alcohol calories on the dance floor. Since, I stopped drinking, it's just dancing for me and I still have a great time.0

Yes that is what stopped me losing/staying the same for a bit. Since I've chilled out on the partying/alcohol, I feel much better, energetic and have dropped some pounds so i'd say it definitely has an effect on it. Alcoholic drinks are very high in calories. A good one to drink though, is vodka and sparkling water with lemon and lime - probably one of the lowest calorie alcoholic drinks I think.
It is too do with the amount consumed though Not saying that drank a lot but I had a few glasses of wine and it affected me but you know, everyone is different.0 -
Well, tomorrow is my birthday and I'm going away with my hubby for a couple of days. I'm going to try and make smart choices when it comes to food and then allow myself a few cocktails at night then I'll get right back on track when I get back home.0

I think that partying has a lot to do with why I gained weight. I am trying to stop that now, but it's hard when all my friends do is drink on weekends. I'm trying to go without drinking now for a while, and see if it makes a difference in my waistline, which I am sure it will without all those extra empty calories.0

I lost 30 lbs when i was partying HARD. I think the key was that i worked out alot during that time and when i went out i drank vodka with low calorie juice, like cranberry juice. Pretty sure vodka is one of the low calorie alcohols. Dont quote me on that.
Since i've cut back drastically on my beer intake i've also found i've stoped my bloating and have lost a few more pounds.
Its hard. But you just have to try and create a balance. I think i will try to completely cut out beer and do vodka again. *shudder* I dont even know if i still like it! But then again, drinking is slowly being cut out of my life for other medical reasons so i dont feel the need anymore.0 -
I make sure that I workout on the days that i'm going to drink. Crystal Light has come out with some great mixes that taste really good with Tequila and Vodka. If i'm out I just ask for it on the rocks. That seems to be working for me and not stoping my weight lose.0
