Blasted new medications are making me gain weight. Sigh. So here begins the battle. At least I staggered around the block this morning for a grand total of 24 minutes. I have never posted to a discussion board before, but I will gratefully receive any encouragement.

Stick with it. I personally know it's a battle, but it's possible. Log everything. Your food is more important than anything else, but being active will make you FEEL better.

    Good luck!

Great job on getting out... I am still battling that part of my life.... SO CONGRATS on doing it!!! On a side note, as you get fit and healthier, I have several friends who ended up off of meds... don't know if your situation could be similiar. BUT Keep your butt moving... you can do it and are doing it! :) Happy to be a friend - you can friend me.

Oh I can so relate! I was a med that did that, too. I told my doc I needed to get off of it. After much persuading and threatening to take myself off of it with or without her help, she agreed to try something else. I don't know if you have that option, but it's worth asking. Seriously, if you have to be on a medication, don't be afraid to specify which side effects you really don't want. Sometimes there is a choice.

When there isn't a choice, there are friends. That's why we're here! You took your first step today by getting out there and walking. Now do it again. And again. Find some great music that motivates you and take it with you. Or a podcast or a book on mp3 (wow I'm old, I almost typed book on tape!). Make it the best YOU time you can have. Make it the highlight of your day and enjoy it. Then come back and have a nice long nap. ;)

    You got this, hon.

Today you stagger...tomorrow you stroll...then you walk...then soon you will be saying "I'm done already? I'm going to go AGAIN!"

You have GOT this! Keep up the great work!

Great job for getting yourself out there and doing it! Its an excellent start!
  • Dont beat yourself up! You made the effort and got out there! That's an accomplishment all alone! Soon enough you will be strolling along at a quick pace for twice that amount of time! It just takes time!

Feel free to add add add add friends to help keep you motivated!
