Simple, Cheap lunch ideas to pre make for college?

i start college on monday. and if i dont pre-think and plan my lunches there is no doubt in my mind i will visit a fast food/cafe more often than not. any suggestions would be great!!! xx

I use flatout multigrain wraps (100cal a wrap) and put whatever in them....lately, it has been almond butter & milled flax seed for morning. But I have done eggs, spinach & tomato. You could use chicken breast, turkey breast, veggies, whatever you like. Brownberry pockets are great too (100 cal also). I also keep nuts portioned out in my lunch bag. Along with carrots, apples, banana, whatever raw veggies & fruit you like. I also bring salads - like today, barley, black beans, tomatos, corn & salsa. Already portioned and not bad cold or hot. I also pack 100 cal portions of greek yogurt... Good luck!0

Do you have access to a microwave? I make a batch of these Spinach Lasagan Roll Ups on Sundays and then bring one for lunch throughout the week. They also freeze well.

Also for snacks, I chop up a bunch of veggies like carrots or cauliflower for the week to add to my lunch with a yogurt.0 -

^^^ I use to live off PB&J in college and then I cash in my unused meal tickets at the end of the week that was paid for by my Mom. :happy:0 -
Does your campus have microwaves in the commons area? My university had several microwaves, so I'd pack a Thai soup bowl or can of soup and bowl. There are tons of options now as well. Healthy Choice makes a little microwavable meal that comes at room temp. They are called Fresh Mixers.
Just thought of the little tuna fish kits that come with crackers as well! Those are pretty decent if you skip on the mayo!0 -
I work a full time job and am in grad school at night so I definitely have to plan my meals to avoid over eating on my calories and to save time. What I do is each weekend, I cook a number of things, divide the servings into tupperware containers and kind of plan what I'm going to eat each day. Then I just warm up what I'm eating when needed. For example, I eat oatmeal every morning so I put all the oatmeal ingredients into those Chinese soup to-go bowls and then just add water and heat when ready to eat. This is only a couple hundred calories. This week, I made sweet potato mash, a couple of whole wheat pasta dishes and tons of sauteed veggies (I'm a vegetarian). And I think it is all going to last me until tomorrow night. I try to make things that I will get at least 2-3 meals out of. This has really helped me stay on track because I know that when I don't have something planned, I automatically go with something unhealthy!0
