Since I have started on the Feb.26, dieting and cut way down on smoking. I haven't been sleeping well. I think part of it is I feel hungry,,,I woke up at 1 and ate a cold hot dog out of the frig. and fell back to sleep. Two hours later here I am awake again. I've been taking ambiem for awhile and never had this problem before until now. I know my diabeties causes me to feel hungry as well.......do you eat anything before bedtime or is that a no no?

Here in Spain we tend to eat dinner pretty late, usually around 9:30 and so I am still pretty full when I go to bed. I also sometimes have hot chocolate or a warm tea before going to bed. It relaxes me and gives me a full feeling.
Also, I find that when I am exercising regularly I sleep better. Hope this helps. It's funny to think you are up in the middle of the night and I am over here, it's noon and I'm at work.
I'll send you sleepy vibes....:yawn:0 -
Hmmm. This sounds like a job for....your doctor. I don't have the first clue as to how to solve that one for you.:ohwell:
I know that uninterupted sleep is important, as it takes a long period for the body to enter that state where it can actually shut down and start it's repair.
Since you are waking up in the night, it might be a sleep disorder, I guess it could be hunger, but the body is suppose to (from what I hear) suppress urges when you sleep. I'll restate my above, I would go see my doctor, maybe even a sleep specialist.0 -
I have to side with banks here. waking up that much with the feelings or urges can be a signal that something is not quite right.
Untill you can get in to him/her, you might try soaking in a very warm bath and having a cup of hot herbal (non caffinated) tea before bed. those things will relax your muscles and help sooth the mind
Hope this helps!!0 -
Trying eating some more protein at night that will stick with you longer. Also, try some chamamile (spelling?) tea.0

I had this at first, but it did subside. But, I would second Bank's urging to ask your doctor if it continues. Also, I've noticed that if I eat a little something (LITTLE!) about an hour before bed, it helps me. Sleep is super-duper important, though. . .so don't wait to ask your doctor.:flowerforyou:0
